Module 4 - Environment or Vehicle Part 03

I remodeled and resculpted the wall sconce to fit the Orb style more. I tried to create dramatic cracks and use the crack brush to separate the shapes so they are more distinct for each other.

Here is the game res of the wall sconce. It reached about 3.8k tris.

Here is the final bake for the wall sconce.

Sprint #7 Delivery

For this sprint, I added additional background tree cards to create the treeline in the background. I used one card and rotated/scaled it so that it gave the illusion of various trees.

I finished topology for Setsuko and did a bake in Substance Painter.

I created some tiny flower meshes out of planes that are close in style to David's flower meshes to keep the poly count low.

Module 4 - Environment or Vehicle Part 02

I added patterns similar to the wave-like patterns on this chandelier

After today's class, I realized I need to add larger chips and trim down the separate pieces more to create a more "separated" appearance. I will also create larger crack details to balance out the large-small details.

Module 4 - Environment or Vehicle Part 01

For this week's 3D Art Assignment, I am creating a wall sconce proxy for my group's ship interior level. We are supposed to create the asset within Orb’s style by using Orb’s brushes and alphas when creating a high-res sculpt in Z-Brush.

Originally, I created a nautical wall sconce that is out of the style but I may use it as an additional decoration for the future. This is not the correct asset for the assignment.

After clarification with Nick, I created the updated wall sconce by sculpting on top of the original proxy with Orb’s brushes and Trim Dynamic for the edges. I have future plans of adding some coral to the wall sconce.

I used the replace actor method to replace the original proxies with my decimated sculpted proxies.

Grave of the Fireflies: Sprint 6

For this sprint, I focused on texturing the other Houdini tree trunk that Ashley created. I tried to create the same Ghibli painterly effect in 3D coat.

I also replaced the other cloud cards with some wispier clouds.

I created a cloud/fog fluid sim in Maya.
